Festive fun

Hello everyone!

I am getting ready to drive down to Austin with some of my friends for the weekend. The July 4th holiday has inspired me to create a fun patriotic look. Red, white and blue is my inspiration! As per usual, I want to put together an affordable look to make it accessible to anyone.

We're going to spend the day with friends at Cain and Abel's before hosting a cookout later in the evening. I'm going to be outside all day so it is important to put together an outfit that will allow me to be cool and comfortable.

Tobi is an online boutique that carries a variety of women's clothing and accessories. It's members are offered the latest fashion trends and very reasonable prices. I've been a Tobi member for over a year and I love it! Discounts on new items come in pretty often and the sale section is updated daily. Promotion codes are also sent out to members around holidays for an extra discount.

I recommend everyone sign up for Tobi. Membership is free and products are top notch. Usually merchandise is pretty inexpensive and all of the discounts bring prices down even more. All the savings are hard to ignore!

This Delia top is a brand new product so instead of $40, I got it for $28. The new item discount will no longer be valid after 30 days. This top comes also comes in peach and mint, but I chose white for the 4th of July theme. Also, a white top will be easier to recycle for other outfit combinations.

It may be cheesy, but I really wanted to find some American flag shorts. What better way to support our country than by wearing our flag? I found these shorts at Nordstrom. They were originally $68, but they were on sale for $35. The way the pattern fades to black on the bottom part portion of the shorts is genius. If the entire pair of shorts were as bright as the top half, the bold pattern would be too dramatic and look corny.

My splurge for this outfit was the shoes. I'm very short so I usually wear pretty big heels. I wanted to wear wedges with this outfit to dress it up a little without overdoing it. I don't typically wear the Jessica Simpson brand because I'm not a huge fan of her collection, but I made an exception. I found a diamond in the rough! I found these wedges at Nordstrom for $90. They have a one inch platform and 4.5 inch heel. Despite being 5.5 inches off the ground, they're very comfortable and easy to wear.

I hope these peeks at my wardrobe can inspire you to look for deals. Be a smart shopper! Look good and keep your paycheck in tact.

Happy Almost-Birthday, America!
