Dressing for a concert

Hello!

Summer is here and beating the heat is difficult to do! Tonight, my boyfriend and I will escape from the sweltering outdoors and head to a Mac Miller concert.

As a stereotypical "girly-girl," I plan on dressing up for this occasion. I love shopping and hit up a few stores to get an outfit ready just for tonight.

As a 21-year old on a college budget, I am always looking for ways to save on my wardrobe. I like to focus on getting high quality goods for a fraction of the price. Typically I save on clothes and use my splurge money on accessories like shoes or jewelry. I employed these tactics for my shopping adventure and this is what I found:

Target maxi dress

This Target maxi dress was under $30. The bold pattern makes it stand out and the braided back gives it a fun, flirty look. Target has some great merchandise for lower costs. People enjoy shopping at Target because they can find fashionable products for reasonable prices.

"Target is one of my favorite stores. I feel like I can find everything I need there without having to worry about how much cash I'll have to fork over at the cashier," said Alexa Vincent, student at The University of Georgia.
Forever 21 faux leather sandals

This cute shoes are incredibly comfortable and give the outfit a splash of color without competing with the pattern of the dress. I purchases these sandals for $8.50. Talk about a deal! Forever 21 can be quite hectic to navigate because their stores are huge. I promise the hunting is well worth it.

The splurge:
Karina Feather Earrings in Gold

I paid $75 for these Karina earrings. I splurged a bit on these because they're very versatile. They're also available in silver for the same price. Kendra Scott has stores in Dallas, Los Angeles, and Austin. Her products can also be purchased online from the Kendra Scott website or at department stores like Nieman Marcus or Nordstrom. My advice is to always check the sale rack. Designs and featured colors are recycled frequently, meaning the sale pile is constantly growing!

I want the dress pattern and earrings to be the focal point of my outfit for tonight so hair and makeup will be really simple. I'm going to wet my hair and twist it over my left shoulder to let it dry. This will allow the ends to have a little flip without giving it too much of a curl.

Makeup regimen:
Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB Cream : $7.44 at Target
Neutrogena Skin Clearing Mineral Powder: $11.24 at Target
Milani Bronzer XL All Over Glow: $7.68 at Target
Covergirl Brown Eyeliner: $4.24 at Target
Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express mascara: $6.09 at Target

Appearance is important because it sends a message to those around you. You never know who you may meet and you don't want their first impression of you to be unsavory because you looked bad.

The deals above keep me looking my best without breaking the bank. I challenge you to go out to these stores and try not to come back with anything. I'll bet it's nearly impossible!

Until next time fashionistas!
